Srinagar, March 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced the revival of the “Udaan Scheme” to provide job opportunities to the youth of the region. The scheme, originally launched to train and place J&K youth in private sector jobs across India, is set to return with improvements to address unemployment challenges.

Speaking at a public event, Omar Abdullah emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering young people by offering them skill development and career opportunities. He highlighted that the revised Udaan Scheme will be tailored to meet current market demands and ensure sustainable employment.

The previous version of the scheme, implemented in partnership with corporate companies, helped thousands of J&K youth gain skills and secure jobs in various industries. However, after being discontinued, unemployment concerns grew, leading to fresh demands for its revival.

The government aims to collaborate with leading businesses, training institutes, and industries to ensure the success of the program. Abdullah assured that the new initiative would not only provide training but also facilitate direct recruitment drives to maximize employment prospects.
