Fresh Weather Update till 26 Dec; Slight improvement in cold conditions in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, 20 Dec: There was slight improvement in the cold conditions in Srinagar as the night temperature increased, but the minimum in the city as well in the rest of the Valley continued to remain below the freezing point.

As per Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, the minimum temperature in Srinagar marked slight improvement from the previous night’s minus 6.6 degrees Celsius to settle at minus 6.2 degrees Celsius.

He said, the night temperature in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at the low of minus 5.7, compared to previous night’s minus 5.9°C.

The minimum in Kupwara, in north Kashmir, went up from minus 6.0 degrees Celsius yesterday to settle at minus 5.6 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag town in south registered the low of minus 5.3 degrees Celsius, the weather forecaster said.

He said the hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of minus 7.7 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest place in the Valley.

The famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir registered the low of minus 7.5 degrees Celsius.

Kashmir Weather has forecast mainly dry weather till 26th December with further increase in minimum temperatures.
