For the first time in history since India got independence, a woman criminal (Death Penalty) is going to be hanged. Shabnam of Amroha is to be hanged in the only female hanging house in Uttar Pradesh (Mathura) located in Mathura. The date of hanging is not fixed but it is believed that Pawan Jallad (Pawan Jallad) of Meerut is going to execute it. Pawan has also visited the hanging house twice. In April 2008, Shabnam, along with her lover, brutally killed seven of her family members with an ax.

In this case, the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of Shabnam. The President has also rejected his mercy petition. So after independence, Shabnam will be the first female prisoner to be hanged. Shabnam, along with lover Salim, had strangled seven people, including parents and a 10-month-old innocent nephew, to death with an ax. In Mathura Jail, a female hanging house was built 150 years ago. But no woman has been hanged since independence. Senior Jail Superintendent Shailendra Kumar Maitreya said that the date of hanging is not fixed yet, but we have started the preparation. Shabnam will be hanged as soon as the death warrant is issued.

10-month-old nephew was also strangled

Amroha’s Shabnam family included teacher father Shaukat Ali, mother Hashmi, brother Anees, Rashid, sister-in-law Anjum and ten-month-old nephew Arsh. Shabnam and the eighth pass of the village had a love affair between the young man Salim, who did not like his father. Both wanted to get married but Shabnam was from Saifi and Salim Pathan fraternity. Shabnam’s family refused to marry because of a young man who was less educated and then from another community.

After this, Shabnam started feeding sleeping pills to the whole family to meet Salim. When the family fell asleep, Salim used to come daily to meet the roof of the house. However, both of them again took a decision that was shocking. On the night of April 14, 2008, Shabnam called lover Salim home and put the family to sleep by feeding them sleeping pills. Shabnam and Salim together in the night put the sleeping father Shaukat, mother Hashmi, brother Anees, Rashid, sister-in-law Anjum, Fuferi sister Rabia and ten-month-old nephew Arsh to death by sleeping.
