Breaking: Encounter Starts Between Security Forces And Militants In J&K
Suspected militants and the Army exchanged fire in Battal area of the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that after targeting some army vehicles including an army ambulance near Shivassan temple in Jogwan area, a search operation was launched and contact with the militants has been established in the Battal area.
Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a massive exchange of fire is underway. Two to three militants are believed to be present in the area.
The area is close to the Line of Control. More reinforcement has been dispatched to the area to track down or neutralize the militants. [KNT]
