DC Ang calls for efficient marketing of Mushkbudji Rice, production of mushroom cultures and utilisation of walnut industry by products, Directs for saturation of PM KISAN, KCC schemes
Anantnag, 05 April, (KN): In a meeting with concerned officers of Agriculture and allied sectors, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla directed for effective marketing of Mushkbudji variety of rice besides integrating the Mushkbudji FPO with e-Commerce platforms.
He stressed for production of mushroom cultures at local level and generating awareness among the prospective entrepreneurs about economic potential of mushroom cultivation.
The DC passed directions to explore modalities for profitable utilisation of walnut industry byproducts viz hulls and shells.
Dr. Singla also directed for cent percent saturation of PM KISAN and KCC schemes besides working on Drip Irrigation and other water conservation techniques.
Earlier, the Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr Waseem informed the meeting about the functioning and achievements of the sector in the district.
It was given out that more than 90000 beneficiaries have received installments under PM KISAN scheme while as KCC scheme has achieved a saturation of 94%.
The CPO, GM DIC, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, LDM and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
