Crime Branch Charges Doctor Over Fake MCI Certificate at SKIMS Bemina, Doctor was Fraudulently Working at SKIMS Since 2016

 

 

Srinagar, July 03 (KN) : The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Thursday filed a chargesheet against a doctor for submitting a fake MCI certificate along with other forged documents during his engagement at SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina.

 

According to an official handout, the Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) submitted the chargesheet in Case FIR No. 01/2023 under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, and 201 of the RPC before the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar.

 

The accused has been identified as Numan Farooq Wani, son of Late Farooq Ahmad Wani, a resident of Abu Bakar Lane, Umarabad Zainakote, Srinagar.

 

The case originated from a complaint received by the Economic Offences Wing, alleging that Numan Farooq Wani was fraudulently working as a doctor at SKIMS Medical College and Hospital since December 2016, drawing salary from the government exchequer based on forged medical documents.

 

The complaint further stated that his MBBS, MD degrees and the registration certificates from the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the State Medical Council were fake.

 

Following the registration of FIR No. 01/2023 at the Police Station Economic Offences Wing (CBK), an investigation was initiated. The inquiry concluded that the accused had indeed submitted fake documents and committed offenses under the aforementioned sections of the RPC.

 

The chargesheet has now been formally presented in the court for judicial proceedings.(Kashmir News-KN)
