A biting cold wave has swept through the Kashmir Valley, Jammu region, and Ladakh, with several locations recording sub-zero temperatures. These frigid conditions have deepened as the winter chill tightens its grip on the region.
Kashmir Region:
Srinagar, the summer capital, experienced a minimum temperature of -5.4°C, while the picturesque tourist destinations of Pahalgam and Sonamarg shivered at -8.4°C and -9.7°C, respectively. Shopian emerged as one of the coldest places, recording a chilling -8.5°C. Other districts, including Qazigund (-6.4°C), Anantnag (-7.9°C), and Larnoo (-8.1°C), also reported severe frost.
