CBSE announces BIG news for students ahead of Term-1 Board Exams 2022

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct term 1 exams for class 10, 12 students in offline mode. However, students participating in international or national sports events and international olympiads might not be able to appear for the exams as the dates are expected to coincide with one another. For such candidates, the board has said it will conduct special exams at a later date.

According to the statement issued by the CBSE, “To promote the spirit of sports in the country and for facilitating the participation of students in international Olympiads, CBSE had decided that in case of the students appearing in the Board’s Examination are participating in National/International sports events recognized by Sports Authority of India and International Olympiads, the examinations for such students will be conducted at a later stage by CBSE.”

Since the board examinations for the session 2021-2022 will be conducted in offline mode and in two parts, the CBSE has issued a set of rules that are to be followed by all the affiliated schools.

Here are some rules for Term – 1 examination: 

There will be no separate exam conducted for Term 1 for session 2021-22

In case students are not able to take the term -1 board exam, their results will be decided on the basis of the term-2 exam. 

The decision of preparing results on the basis of Term 2 examination will be applicable in the following cases: –

  • The students participating in national, international sports events duly recognised by Sports Authority of India (SAI), subject to the condition of production of a letter issued by SAI in this regard.
  • Students participating in International Olympiads duly recognised by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, subject to the condition of production of a letter issued by SAI in this regard.
  • The information and requests from the candidates through schools should reach CBSE latest by November 25, 2021.
  • The Regional Offices after receipt of such requests shall ensure the genuineness of requests and documents received with such requests and send confirmation to the schools. The data of all such cases, roll number and school-wise details shall be maintained by the Regional Offices for updation in result of Term -I.
  • Students who have tested positive for Covid-19 during the schedule of conduct of examination, subject to the production of test reports and recommendations from a registered medical practitioner. As per the CBSE circular, the schools need to send applications to the concerned Regional Office with the recommendation of Sports Authority of India and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, respectively as stated in the circular dated 19-7-2019 and 30-2-2020.
