Ex-India batting coach Sanjay Bangar also that said pacer Umran Malik may get “discarded straight away pretty soon if the results don’t go in India’s favor in the World Cup like Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar discarded, who were a part of the global event (World cup) in 2021, are nowhere to be seen. So you don’t want Umran to face the same situation and get discarded because the results don’t go in the team’s favor.”

He also warned the selectors against repeating last year’s actions following the World Cup.

“But if the World Cup results do not go in your (India’s) favour, you could be immediately sacked. Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar were on your (the host’s) list of names; however, they are no longer on the World Cup roster. Not even close to the squad are they. Therefore, you do not want a talented player to be benched merely because the team’s results are not favourable,” Sanjay Bangar continued.

He will undoubtedly make his debut (before the T20 World Cup). I believe he would have participated in at least five matches by the moment the West Indies tour is over” Sanjay Bangar Said.

Team India will return to action in the shortest format on June 26 when all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the first match of the series against Ireland in Malahide.
