Big News- Rs 1,887-cr Bonanza For Pensioners, 3L to Benefit- Know More Details Here 

After the 28 percent increase in dearness allowance and relief (7th Pay Commission) of central employees by the Modi government of the Center, recently the Punjab Government has given gifts to more than 3 lakh pensioners. Under this, pensioners will be given revised pension with an additional amount of Rs 1887 crore from July 1, 2021.

There is a possibility that it can be benefited with the salary before November. The special thing is that allowances will also be included in this.

In fact, recently, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had issued orders to give revised pension to more than 3 lakh pensioners under the 6th Pay Commission with an additional amount of Rs 1887 crore from July 1, 2021.

Punjab State According to media reports, the Finance Department has started preparations after this decision, it is believed that pensioners can get this amount before Diwali. Other benefits like encashment of holidays and gratuity will also be paid.

According to the order, about 42,600 pensioners who were retired between January 1, 2016 and June 30, 2021, will be paid a one-time payment of Rs. 915 crore. The burden will be The revised pension will be paid in lump sum to the pensioners (Punjab Government 2021) from July 1. This is being considered as a big master stroke of the Punjab .

MAIN POINTS

(1) Channi directed that the revised pension be released to the pensioners in one go.

(2) Chief Minister also approved paying retirement benefits, including leave encashment and gratuity, worth around Rs 915 crore to 42,600 pensioners having retired between January 1, 2016, and June 30, 2021, in one go instead of the earlier decision to pay in instalments.

(3) Both the decisions entailed an expenditure of around Rs 2,802 crore.
