Big Blow for Team India as star performer ruled out of Asia Cup 2023
The Indian cricket team is currently facing a number of injury concerns, which could potentially impact their performance in the upcoming Asia Cup. KL Rahul, who suffered a hamstring injury back in May, is unlikely to be fit for the tournament. Additionally, middle order batter Shreyas Iyer, who underwent back surgery, is also a major doubt for the competition.
KL Rahul suffered a thigh injury during the Indian Premier League 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The injury saw him being ruled out of the World Test Championship final. As per Cricbuzz, Rahul is set to miss the Asia Cup as well. As per the report, Rahul has no chance of featuring in the T20I series against Ireland and in the Asia Cup. He hasn’t resumed batting yet.
Rahul underwent a surgery in the United Kingdom (UK) in May.
Rahul’s absence from the important games before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 could impact Team India’s chances in the global event.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah will return for the contests in Ireland and could also play in the Asia Cup 2023.
