Karachi: Pakistan captain Babar Azam who was recently featured in the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan has made a new friend ahead of Asia Cup 2023.

Babar-led Pakistan will take on Nepal in the opening match of the 2023 Asia Cup in Multan. The tournament, which will be played in fifty-overs format, has six teams divided into two groups of three teams each.

Pakistan, India and Nepal are in Group A while Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are in Group B. The tournament will follow a hybrid model with Pakistan hosting four matches across two venues and Sri Lanka hosting the remaining games.

The iconic clash between India and Pakistan is set for September 2 in Kandy.

Babar’s new friend is a cat posing with him took his Twitter to share the photo of his new friend.

In his Tweet on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Babar uploaded a picture of himself sitting beside a cat while gently petting it. The cricketer can be seen in trendy clothing in the image, donning a cap, an orange t-shirt and a pair of light blue jeans. He accompanied his post with a title that reads, “Made a new friend yesterday”, followed by a laughing emoji.

The heartwarming picture of the Pakistan cricketer has sparked reactions from several cricket fans.

Most fans hailed Babar as a ‘king’ of world cricket in the replies section of the Tweet. One of the fans joked how the cat was lucky because it was sitting beside the best ODI batsman in the world. The post read, “A Lucky Cat With World NO 1 ODI BATSMAN.”
