Good news for Pakistan cricket fans: the Asia Cup 2023 dispute appears to be coming to an end. According to sources, Pakistan has been given permission to host four games of Asia Cup 2023 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Following the acceptance of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) hybrid model Sri Lanka will host the remaining games, including India vs Pakistan and the final. With the BCCI Vs PCB feud temporarily resolved, the ICC may also breathe a sigh of relief, since Pakistan has no issue to visiting India for the World Cup in 2023.

According to PTI, Pakistan will play matches against Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.
What is the PCB’s Asia Cup 2023 Hybrid Model ?
- The competition will be divided into two parts under the new hybrid concept.
- Pakistan will host Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal in the first phase.
- India’s matches will be played in a neutral location in the second phase.
- Apart from the final, Sri Lanka will host India’s games against Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
- While Pakistan desired the second round to take place in the UAE, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are opposed due to the heat.
- Even if India fails to qualify or Pakistan wins the final, the neutral location will host the event.
Earlier, PCB chairman Najam Sethi threatened to boycott both the Asia Cup and the World Cup if Asian Cricket Council chairman Jay Shah, who is also the BCCI secretary, did not approve Pakistan as a partial host.
