ADC Anantnag inspects Covid Testing Centre Lower Munda, directs for provision of all basic facilities at the centre
More than 3600 tests done at the centre
ANANTNAG, APRIL 19, (KN)Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Ghulam Hassan Sheikh today visited Covid Testing Centre Lower Munda and took stock of its functioning. He enquired from the officials about the status and details of the covid sampling being done there.
SDM, Dooru, Gh Rasool Wani who is Nodal Officer for the said centre informed the ADC the centre has 08 functional Testing Kiosks where more than 3600 Rapid Antigen Tests of the travellers, truckers etc have been conducted so far. He further informed the necessary augmentations are being taken to fully cater to the requirement.
The ADC directed the concerned officials to ensure smooth testing of travellers, truckers etc besides provision of all basic facilities at the centre. He also directed the police and traffic authorities to take appropriate measures for smooth traffic movement near the site.
BMO Qazigund, officials of police and other concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
Pertinently, the testing centre was made functional on directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla as a proactive and deterrent measure to tackle the surge of Covid cases in 2nd wave. The centre has been doing the testing operations smoothly and the DC is monitoring its functioning on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, the DC appealed to the general public to strictly adhere to the Covid guidelines and cooperate with the administration to combat the fresh Pandemic wave. He also warned of strict legal action against the violators of Covid SOPs. (KN)
