JKPSC Announces Provisional Selection for Assistant Professor Posts

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (J&K PSC) has released the provisional selection list for the post of Assistant Professor in Mathematics for the Higher Education Department as per Notification No. 40-PSC (DR-S) of 2024, dated December 6, 2024.

The Higher Education Department referred a total of 17 posts of Assistant Professor (Mathematics) to the J&K PSC for selection under different categories. The first set of seven posts was advertised in March 2023 (Notification No. 06-PSC DR-P), followed by another ten posts advertised in May 2023 (Notification No. 17-PSC DR-P).

The recruitment process included a written test conducted on November 5, 2023. The results of this test were declared on April 1, 2024. Based on merit, 66 candidates were shortlisted for the interview stage. The viva-voce interviews were conducted on December 5 and 6, 2024, with the assistance of external experts.

Selection and Provisional List

The final selection of candidates was based on their performance in the written examination, interviews, and other parameters as per Rule 45 of the J&K PSC Rules. A total of 16 posts have been filled, with one post under the ALC/IB category left vacant due to no candidate meeting the required benchmark. The detailed provisional selection list is provided as Annexure-B to the notification.

Objections, if any, can be submitted to the Commission within five days from the issuance of this notification.
