CBSE disaffiliates 21 schools, downgrades six more: Check list of schools here
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently taken significant actions against schools, disaffiliating 21 schools and downgrading six others. This decision was made following surprise inspections conducted on September 3, 2024, which aimed to ensure compliance with the Board’s Affiliation and Examination Bye-Laws, particularly regarding student attendance
Reasons for Disaffiliation and Downgrading
The primary reason for these actions was the discovery of a concerning number of “dummy” students—students who were enrolled but not attending classes—in the affected schools. This practice undermines the integrity of the educational system and the mission of providing a holistic education. The CBSE emphasized the necessity of maintaining educational standards and addressing issues related to student attendance.
