Delhi’s special NIA court grants interim bail to parliamentarian Rashid Engineer in connection with a terror funding case. The interim bail is granted till October 2, 2024, by the court.He has been granted bail to allow him to campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections
Rashid has been incarcerated since 2019 after being charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for his alleged involvement in a terror funding case linked to the investigation of Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Watali .
He recently won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Baramulla constituency, defeating former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
