NEET UG 2024 Answer Key: Check Result Date, Subject wise Paper Analysis and other details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the NEET UG 2024 on May 5. The exam was conducted from 2 PM to 5.20 PM in 4,750 exam centres in 571 cities across India and abroad. Over 22 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of around 25 lakh applicants.  Numerous social media posts after the exam alleged a question paper leak, but NTA dismissed all such claims.

“During the NEET (UG) 2024 examination, it came to the attention of the NTA that at one examination centre, Girls Higher Secondary Model School, Mandir, Mantown, Sawai Madhopur, there was an incident of incorrect distribution of question papers by the Centre Superintendent. Despite efforts by invigilators to prevent it, some candidates left the examination centre with question papers,” read the official notice.

The NEET 2024 answer keys and solutions for all question papers have been released by the coaching institutes. NTA will release the provisional NEET 2024 answer keys by the first week of June 2024, followed by the NEET 2024 result and final answer keys on June 14, 2024.

NEET 2024 Paper Analysis

According to experts, the overall difficulty level of the NEET 2024 exam was moderate to tough. Compared to last year, the difficulty level was said to be easier. The order to tough to easy sections were Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Biology was largely based on the NCERT syllabus but included a few tricky questions. Chemistry was a mix of conceptual and practical questions that required a clear understanding of the fundamentals. There were no surprise elements or out of the syllabus questions.

Now let us take a look at the subject-wise NEET 2024 analysis.

NEET 2024 Analysis for Physics

This year, the Physics questions were mostly numerical-based, which required a strong conceptual understanding. Questions were from Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics and Modern Physics. The exam included direct MCQs, match the column, assertion and reasoning, and statement-based questions. Notably, 30 per cent of the questions were numerical based.

NEET 2024 Analysis for Chemistry

The Chemistry section was a balanced mix of physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. The questions ranged from straightforward factual questions based on direct concepts from the NCERT textbooks to more application-based questions. The highest weightage was given to ‘Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principles and Techniques. Out of 50 questions, nine were numerical-based, seven involved matching the following, and five were statement-based.

NEET 2024 Analysis for Biology

Biology questions in NEET 2024 were mostly NCERT-based. Questions were mostly from topics such as Human Physiology, Genetics, and Plant Physiology. Unlike previous years, this year’s question papers featured six figure-based and three direction-based questions, along with 30 ‘match the following’ and 17 statement-based questions. As 30 per cent of the questions were of the ‘match the following’ type, some students found the paper a bit lengthy.

Following the examination, NTA will publish scanned images of OMR Answer Sheets and recorded responses by the machine for all candidates on the website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET ).

The specific date for displaying these images will be communicated post-exam on the NTA website. Candidates can contest the OMR grading by submitting representations, each incurring a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per challenged question.

NEET UG 2024 Result Date

As per the information bulletin, the NEET UG 2024 results will be declared on June 14. The result of NEET (UG) 2024 may be utilised by other Entities of Central and State Governments, in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria / other norms /applicable regulations/guidelines/rules.
