WhatsApp To Roll Out HD Quality Photo Feature For Users- How Does It Work?

WhatsApp To Roll Out HD Photo Feature : Meta Platforms-owned WhatsApp has added a new feature known as HD pictures. Users may now send high-quality photographs without losing their original size due to this feature. The goal is to make it easy for users to post high-quality images on the site. Although the WhatsApp HD Picture feature is not yet accessible to all users, WABetainfo reports that beta testers may soon have access to a new option that allows them to customise photo quality.

Generally as consumers share images on WhatsApp, the image quality drops. It’s because the image’s pixels and size change during sharing. The new HD function, on the other hand, will solve this problem. Users of the WhatsApp HD Picture feature may now choose between HD and Normal photo quality.

This latest WhatsApp version only allows you to share photographs within chats. You cannot send a video using this capability, because as previously stated, high-quality films may only be shared as documents. This new feature also does not allow you to share photographs via status updates.

According to The Quint, android beta testers who download the most recent versions of WhatsApp will be able to share the HD images while iOS beta testers can do the same by installing the latest version of WhatsApp beta from the TestFlight App. This feature will be available for more users in the coming weeks.

The launch of WhatsApp’s HD photo-transmitting functionality aims to improve the visual experience for users by giving them the option of sending higher-quality photos.

How Does It Work?

  • While sending a photo with the ‘high quality’ option, a new tag will be added to the message bubble.
  • This is just to inform the recipient that the photo is sent using this feature.
  • So far, this ability to send HD photos is rolling out to some beta testers on Android and iOS.
  • Soon, it is expected to roll out to more users over the coming weeks, as per the report.
  • Earlier during January this year, it was reported that the messaging platform was working on this feature for Android beta.
  • In the following month, another report mentioned that this feature was in the works for iOS beta.
