These Countries Have Not Invited For Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral – See Full list Here

The Queen’s funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey with around 2,000 guests from all across the world, including about 500 dignitaries. This is the biggest international event the UK has hosted in decades. The logistical task is compared to organising hundreds of state visits within a matter of days. The funeral will start on September 19 at 3:30 PM (India time).

The UK will say its goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II, who died aged 96, in a state funeral on September. Two minutes of silence will be observed Monday across the United Kingdom at the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey, giving British public across the nation a chance to pay their respects to the late monarch. The Queen breathed her last on September 9 and ever since the Royal Family and the people of the UK have been in mourning.

Although the official guest list hasn’t been released yet, however the names of a few countries shared that didn’t make the cut.

A report in the New York Post said that some countries have not been invited to the Queen’s funeral. Here’s the list:

  • 2. Belarus
  • 3. Afghanistan
  • 4. Myanmar
  • 5. Syria
  • 6. Venezuela

Additionally, North Korea, Iran, and Nicaragua’s ambassadorial representatives were sent invites. No invites were sent to the head of states of these countries, the report said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin wished King Charles III on his accession however Moscow has not been invited to the Queen’s funeral owing to the February invasion of Ukraine, the report noted.

Several world leaders have already confirmed their attendance at the royal funeral of the Queen. Moreover, United States President Joe Biden, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, and France’s Emmanuel Macron all will travel to the UK.

Indian President Draupadi Murmu will be in the UK between September 17 and 19 for the funeral. French President Emanuel Macaron has also confirmed his visit to the UK. From Nepal, their foreign minister Narayan Khadka will be there and from Srilanka, President Renil Wickremesinghe will fly to the UK to be at the funeral.
