National Child Development Council celebrates National Sports Day
National Child Development Council (NCDC) celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand.
The day is also devoted to the nations’ sports icons and titleholders, recognizing their donation and fidelity towards bringing laurels to the country.
National Child Development Council Master Trainer Baba Alexander suggested that the concept of sports education need to be changed.
He said that the selection for different sports training has to be done according to the aptitude of children, while the talents of students need to be identified by trained sports teachers in schools.
The core committee of council appreciated Nihal Sarin and Ramesh Praggnanandhaa
for their distinct achievement in their career in the 44th Chess Olympiad.
The committee also appreciated the ‘Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports ’( MYAS) and ‘Fit India Mission’ which aim to take FIT India movement to Schools/ Colleges/ Ministries/ Govt & Pvt Organisations by encouraging them to share in a grand manner on the occasion of National Sports Day on 29th August.
They said that on this day, Schools/ Colleges/ Ministries/ Govt & Pvt Organisations should encourage their scholars workers staff to take part in sports fitness conditioning for at least 1 hour.
