Kashmir: Shopkeeper, salesman arrested for allegedly selling ‘dead’ chicken to customer
Anantnag, Apr 25: Police arrest shopkeeper and his salesman for allegedly selling dead chicken in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a man claimed that a poultry shopkeeper slaughtered a dead chicken in front of his eyes and when he objected, the shopkeeper apologized.
The shop is located at the Gujnag Kadipora area of the Anantnag market and is owned by Suhail Ahmed.
Police after receiving the complaint arrested the shopkeeper and his salesman.
A police official from police post-Sher Bagh confirmed to KNT that the duo has been arrested and the investigation is underway. He said the shop has been closed down after the arrests.
An official from Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSA), Zameer Ahmed said that they will initiate action after the police investigation. (KNT)
