Watch Video: Australian Test Skipper Pat Cummins Smashes Joint-Fastest Half-Century in The Indian Premier League History
Kolkata Knight Riders’ Pat Cummins equaled the record for the fastest half-century in the Indian Premier League history, slamming fifty off just 14 deliveries during the game against Mumbai Indians. Cummins equaled KL Rahul’s record from 2018 when the Indian batter had reached the feat against the Delhi Capitals.
The Australian Test skipper joined Venkatesh Iyer with Kolkata on 101-5 while chasing 162 and tore into the Mumbai attack with his 56 off 15 balls as the two-time champions reached their target with four overs and five wickets to spare.
Cummins’ stupendous innings handed Kolkata Knight Riders their third win from four matches while Mumbai Indians have now lost all of their three encounters.
Going into the 16th over, KKR needed 35 off 30. Russell had just been dismissed by a Tymal Mills short delivery for 11. Jasprit Bumrah had still two overs left and Mumbai were smelling victory. But Cummins blew away such aspirations and got the required runs off just six, which included a no-ball
