MCC Makes Big Announcement, Says Counselling to be Delayed by Another Month

NEET UG Counselling 2021 Latest Update: Medical college admissions, both Undergraduate and postgraduate this academic session has been hit by hurdles on its way. Even after a month since National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of National Eligibility cum entrance Test (NEET) 2021 results, the counselling and admission process is yet to begin and selected candidates might have to wait another month before appearing for the counselling process. The hearing is due for January 6.

NEET UG Counselling 2021 likely to be delayed by a month or more- MCC Makes Big Announcement:

What Medical Counselling Committee Informed: The MCC informed that the counselling is getting delayed due to the ongoing case hearing in Supreme Court. It must be noted that the Supreme Court is assessing the feasibility of keeping Rs 8 lakh as a limit to avail of the newly introduced EWS quota for medical admissions. The Supreme Court will hear the matter on January 6, thus, before the verdict, the counselling process is unlikely to begin. “All candidates desiring to participate in NEET-UG, 2021 Counselling are hereby informed that the Office Memorandum dated 30.07.2021 is under challenge before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India,” the MCC said in an official notice.

NEET UG Counselling 2021 Latest Update For Students: 

PETITION IN SUPREME COURT: A petition against the centre and the Medical Counselling Committee’s notification to provide 27 per cent reservation to OBC and 10 per cent to EWS students in all India quota medical seats committee informed that until has been made and the committee has informed that until the matter is pending in the Supreme Court,  the counselling will not begin.

NEET PG COUNSELLING 2021: 

NEET PG counselling has been delayed for the same reason and the Union health Minister has requested the apex court for early listing and hearing of the matter. The resident doctor’s have been striking for almost two weeks demanding the early counselling of the medical students who could lose out on a year and also scarcity of hospital staff.

CONSTANT DELAY IN NEET 2021 COUNSELLING:

The constant delay in counselling has left the NEET aspirants disappointed. Several students shared their concerns on social media and demanded that MCC should give a clear answer as to when the counselling process will begin. Sharing their concern with MCC, an aspirant wrote, “Dear MCC, please at least put some update regarding NEETUG2021 counselling in the notice board. Already we have lost nearly 4 months in this year’s academic season. Start AIQ counselling as soon as possible.”

NEET 2021 RESULTS: 

The NEET 2021 results were declared on November 1, however, the counselling process and since been deferred multiple times.
