Fee for lockdown period: No relief for CBSE students, BOSE ‘helpless’ to take any action | Details Here
Srinagar, Jul 03 : With a few schools having affiliation of Central Board of School Education (CBSE), the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has been left ‘helpless’ to take any action against them for charging miscellaneous fee from students during lockdown period.
Earlier this week, the government said some private schools of the Kashmir division affiliated with both CBSE and BOSE were violating its guidelines by collecting undue and miscellaneous charges from the parents.
On Saturday, BOSE cancelled its facilities to the schools only affiliated with it but couldn’t take actions against those affiliated with CBSE.
According to the BOSE order issued on Saturday, it has cancelled board facilities to seven schools affiliated with it but has excluded four such schools of Kashmir division having affiliation with CBSE.
The BOSE informed the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) that the four CBSE schools were violating the government guidelines but have no jurisdiction over such schools.
In the order BOSE said, “The four schools figuring in the order issued on June-26 were not affiliated with BOSE and DSEK may take up the matter with concerned boards.”
Earlier on June-26, the government said that its directives for not charging any sort of fee from the students during the lockdown were not implemented by scores of private schools.
In the previous order, DSEK has said that a delegation of Parents Association of Private Schools approached them on 22-06-2021 with the submission that the some schools are not implementing the Government Fee Fixation Committee (GFFC) orders issued from time to time with regard to collection of fee for the session Viz 2019-20 and 2020-21 especially during the lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic (KNO)
