Watch: Viral video shows sinkhole swallowing parked car at housing society in Mumbai
A parked car fell into a sealed well at a housing society in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar on Sunday. A viral video of the incident, recorded by the vehicle owner, shows a section of the concrete parking area caving in and subsequently swallowing the four-wheeler.

The incident took place on the premises of the Ram Nivas society in Ghatkopar on Sunday. Residents say there is a well that runs 50 feet deep, located inside the compound. This well, nearly 100 years old, was sealed using reinforced concrete in order to make parking space for the society’s residents.
The vehicle was pulled out of the sinkhole with the combined efforts of the BMC, fire brigade, police officials, and locals. Using machine pumps to flush out the water from the well and with the help of a crane, the submerged car was removed from the hole, twelve hours after it sank in.
