7 Militants Killed in Two Separate Encounters in South Kashmir

Srinagar, April 09, (KN): Seven militants have been killed in two separate gunfights on Friday with security forces in Pulwama and Shopian district of South Kashmir.
The Kashmir Zone Police said that security forces gunned down seven militants including Chief & deputy of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in two separate encounters in south Kashmir.
In the Tral gunfight, Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the Nowbugh area of Tral, following specific information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.
In the exchange of firing, two militants were killed including the Chief & deputy of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind Imtiyaz Shah, the official said.
In Shopian Gunfight, security forces killed five militants in the Jan Mohalla area of Shopian district, according to the Kashmir Zone Police. They said that search was underway.
While identification of the killed militants is also being ascertained.(KN)
