7th Pay Commission: BIG change in salary – Govt employees to get hiked salary from July 1, Check details

Lakhs of central government employees who have been eagerly waiting for hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) will get revised salary from July 1.

Lakhs of central government employees who have been eagerly waiting for hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) will get revised salary from July 1. Last year, due to Corona, the government had withheld dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) of employees and pensioners, which is all set to be released this time.

Another good news for the employees is that they will also be paid the three pending installments. DA is currently paid at the rate of 17 percent to central government employees. When the DA will increase to 28 percent, then obviously there will be a tremendous increase in the salary of the employees.

The employees are going to get the benefit of two years DA directly, because the dearness allowance of the central government employees had increased by 4 percent in January 2020, then there was an increase of 3 percent in the second half i.e. in June 2020. In January 2021, the dearness allowance increased once again by 4 percent. That means the total has gone up to 28 percent. However, these three installments have not yet been paid.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the government had suspended the disbursement of DA at increased rates along with DR for pensioners. Suspending DA hikes for one and a half years helped the government save a total of Rs 37,530.08 crore. This amount was utilised to bolster the resources needed to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent restrictions through various stimulus measures.
